LET ME BE CLOSE TO YOU
Lord, please let me be close to You
Relying on Your strength to walk this path
This world holds a thousand bitter trials
But Your strength helps me overcome all
I don’t think I have enough strength
To follow You throughout my life on earth
But thanks to the power You bestow
I’m sure I will stand firm
Lord, please let me be close to You
To understand the mysteries in Scriptures
So my spirit may have its eyes opened
To see the wondrous things in Your teachings
My life is full of hardship and bitterness
I long for You to be near me, Lord
Holding Your hand, I press onward
Even amidst hardship, I still smile
Today I still have many sorrows
But tomorrow I will surely rejoice
May You keep me close to You forever
To walk with You through life
THOUGH FAR APART, STILL THE SAME FAITH
You left, leaving behind the small river
I stood silently watching the water flow
Wishing you peace and happiness
May God be with you in that distant land
The foreign land holds many new things
Do you ever remember your old home?
The road from before is still here
Only my shadow walks alone
The betel nut trees sway happily in the wind
I send my sorrows away with the falling leaves
Hoping you still keep your former spirit
Bearing witness to God everywhere
In my homeland, I continue to preach
So that people may know God’s love
Even though we are separated by thousands of miles
We share the same faith
Though our paths in life may not be together
In faith, we share the same heart
When we meet again someday
Our hearts will surely blossom with joy
The sorrows of the past are gone
Spiritual fruit is the future
We will both dedicate our lives
Striving to please God
From homeland I send this message
Something you must remember, my dear
Even though we may not be together
We will always be children of Heaven
THE PAST IS GONE
Through life’s journey, I stumbled and strayed
Facing many hardships, overwhelmed by sorrow
One day, I suddenly awoke and stopped my wandering
Only to see around me the shadows of loneliness
Regretting the days that are gone forever
The years ahead were filled with sadness
Longing to find true happiness
Amidst life’s darkness, a distant hope
Friends have gradually departed
One after another, leaving this world behind
Now I am alone and sad
Family and home are so far away
The hopes of a lifetime seem lost
Waiting anxiously as the days pass by
In a foreign land, far from home
Waiting for the season when the leaves fall
Suddenly, in the darkness, a light shines
A call of grace from above
Startled, I awaken, hearing in the wind
The voice of God is urging me to come home
I leave behind my wandering life
Sorrow and worries quickly disappear
Oh, the abundant grace of God remains
I stop my wandering and return to Him
