Lord, please draw me closer to You
Rely on Your strength to guide my steps
This world holds thousands of bitter trials
Your strength helps me conquer all
I don't presume I possess the strength
To follow You throughout my life
Yet, by the power You bestow
I am sure I shall stand firm.
Lord, please draw me closer to You
To grasp mysteries within the Scriptures
May my eyes be opened wide
To behold wonders in Your teachings
My life is full of hardship and bitterness
O Lord, draw me ever closer to You
Cling to Your hand, I press onward
Though the journey remains arduous, my lips still smile
Today, I may still be burdened by sorrow
In days to come, I know I shall rejoice
May You, Father, keep me ever closer to You
That I may walk alongside You through this life.
