GOD IS THE GOD OF LOVE FROM THE BEGINNING

When the Bible says God is the Creator of all things, it implies that in the beginning, God existed alone; nothing else existed (Isaiah 45:7; Jeremiah 10:6). Yet God’s singularity did not mean He was utterly solitary. From the very beginning, by His own power, God existed as three Persons: God Himself, His Word (Jesus Christ), and His Wisdom (the Holy Spirit); apart from Them, no other being or object existed (John 1:1–2; Proverbs 8:23–24). The void of the beginning is something the human mind can scarcely conceive. Because human beings are born into a world where other things already exist, it is difficult to comprehend the nature of absolute emptiness. At that time, there was no light, no time, no physical matter—not even air. Not a single cell existed, however minute. Only God and an infinite, absolute void existed. He alone was the life and the sole light within that vast emptiness (1 John 1:5; John 1:4; Isaiah 60:20). He Himself is the source of life, and through Him exists all life in both the invisible and visible realms that we see today (Psalm 36:9; Isaiah 45:7, 60:19-20; Jeremiah 31:35). From the very beginning—before all things came to be—God existed as three Persons; His Oneness was never a state of loneliness or absolute solitude. Because God is Love, He expressed that love through His Word and His Wisdom even before the creation of angels or mankind. All three are God, and these three Persons constitute the one true God. This foundational and vital truth enables Christians to comprehend the mysteries God has revealed in the Bible—His Word. Thus, when the Lord Jesus Christ later commanded His disciples to go into all the world and preach the Gospel, He instructed them to baptize those who believed in the name of God, the Word (Jesus Christ), and His Wisdom (the Holy Spirit) (Matthew 28:19). Baptizing in this manner serves to manifest the power and the unity of the Triune God.
