IS AI (ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE) GOOD OR BAD?
Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
When something new emerges in life, people often wonder whether it brings any benefit. Some harbor a mindset that resists novelty, even going so far as to label such things as tools of Satan or instruments of evil. Similar reactions occurred decades ago when computers first became widely available to the public. The same is true today regarding AI. However, if we as Christians ask the right questions and seek answers in the Bible, the issue becomes simpler and easier to understand.
When God’s Word states that *all things* work together for good for those who love God, does that phrase "all things" mean 10%, 50%, or 100%? Could God’s Word be proven wrong if "all things" actually referred to only a few beneficial matters while everything else was harmful? Does "all things" encompass sickness, hardship, trials, poverty, and even the kind of exile experienced by the people of Israel? Was the exile beneficial or detrimental to Daniel’s life? Was Daniel a man who loved God?
So, is AI today included in that phrase "all things"? If the Bible—the Word of God and the Holy Spirit—endures forever yet fails to encompass everything in this world, does that eternal existence hold any real meaning? Do Christians ever consider the Bible to be outdated—valid only for a specific era or period? If that concept of "all things" extends to include AI, what benefit does it offer the Christian? What does that benefit depend on—the Christian's heart, or how a non-believer uses it? God is the God of love and goodness; would He ever allow anything that causes total, irreparable harm to His children? Is there anything in the entire universe capable of truly harming those who sincerely love the Lord? Humans may betray those who love them, but would God ever forsake those who love Him with all their hearts? Is there any power in the universe so great that it surpasses God’s power and can harm those who sincerely love Him? Is there ever a time when a Christian sincerely loves and reveres the Lord, yet He cannot protect them or bring them good?
What is the central focus of this key verse? Does it imply that everything in this world—whether beneficial or harmful—depends on the depth of a Christian's love and reverence for the Lord? Does God care about outward matters, or does He care about the Christian's heart?
When you ask yourself questions like these, you will certainly find the most accurate and clear answer, for the Word of God is life and light to His people—especially to those who sincerely and wholeheartedly love and revere Him.
