– Every time a child died at young age, many people, particular unbelievers, criticized God, even cursed Him for letting the child died. They were more critical to the point of hateful if the child suffered a horrible death. Some others, pretending as more sensible, asked this similar question: If the Christian’s God is a loving One, why He let the child died like that? Either the Christians lied or their God is not loving as they said.

– Those people who are hostile to Christianity often asked others to know them and experience their life styles before criticizing them, but on the other hand they never actually read through the Bible or study it carefully before judging God and condemning Christianity. And they are always talking about fairness and balance!

– Death is a sure thing that happens to everyone on Earth, no exception (only two people who were mentioned in the Bible that never experienced death. They were Enoch and Elijah), and happens at every age. When children died, we should look at their death through the lens of the Bible.

– According to the Bible, if children were killed by other people, either outside or inside mother’s wombs, those killed them committed one of the gravest sins before God, and punishments will be upon them surely in many forms, in this life and in eternity.

– If the children died because of natural causes, like diseases or disasters, they will be in Paradise with Abraham and later on will be in Heaven with God after the Judgment day. Jesus has said clearly about that during His earthly ministry:

MATTHEW 19: 14 – Jesus said: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these”.

– In His saying, Jesus also means that children who are at very young age don’t need the baptism like some churches insisted.

– We have to understand that God is always in control of either case above. In the fist instant, God allowed child killers to be successful with their intentions. But God is still good and He cannot be blamed. The murderers planned to kill, that’s their intention, not God’s. But God already knew the future of each child and He allowed the killing happened to some and prevented others’. Though, the murderers did commit that kind of sin and they will be punished accordingly.

– Now, we can look into two scenarios to understand both cases above:

– Scenario One: If murdered children and those died by natural causes were descendants from Adam and were still innocent because of their young ages, they would be in Paradise with Abraham after death, waiting for Jesus to get them into Heaven.

– Then here is what we should give our thought: It’s better for a child to die at young age then get into Heaven in the future or he lived, committed sins during adulthood and later be condemned forever in Hell?

– We do not mean that every child should die young in order to easily get into Heaven, we only want to discuss of what already happened. A person lives or dies according to God’s will, not his own decision. We can see many times in real life that someone wanted to die but was unsuccessful even he tried to walk at the front of his unit on a battlefield. On the other hand, many people wanted to live long but their lives were cut short by some sudden tragedies. Who knows? Only God knows and decides the fate of everyone on Earth.

– But some people who are hostile to Christianity said: If Heaven was so good for you, why don’t all of you Christians die and get there together? Asking a question like that is foolish and unwise.

– Let consider it: If people saw a beautiful house owned by someone that they wanted to live in, could they simply walk right in and occupy it? Definitely not. They must ask for permission from the owner first. In the same way, we human beings, especially Christians, cannot simply die and get into Heaven. There are house’ rules, land’s rules, country’s rules and regulations on this Earth and you think God’s Heaven has no rule at all? That people, even Christians, just died and be admitted to it?

– In this life people know how to wait patiently in lines at groceries stores, at gas stations, at post offices but they think humans just died whenever they wanted to? No, life is not like that. God has plan for everyone on Earth and they will pass away in time according to God’s will or His permission.

– Because of that kind of human’s ignorance and lack of understanding that God gave us the Bible to teach us about life and death among other things as well.

– God allows humans to be born into this world to have a taste of Heaven but most of people keep ignore it, waste it. That’s most of people just focus at earthly things, becoming greedy, fight for them, kill or being killed because of them, although they must leave them all at the end.

– When we take time to think about Heaven that was described in the Bible, we will understand that 80 or 90 years on Earth cannot compare with an eternity in Heaven with God.

– Scenario Two: If children who died were descendants of Satan, they would be sent to Hades and there waiting for the Judgment then would be cast into the lake of fire and suffered forever.

JOHN 8: 44 – You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

REVELATION 20: 14 – Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

– While still living in this life we will never know who are Adam’s descendants or Satan’s, even His angels cannot know, only God knows exactly who we are. That’s why God is the only One makes decisions who dies or who live and how long on this Earth.

MATTHEW 13: 24-30 – Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him: ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them: ‘An enemy has done this’. The servants said to him: ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said: ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers: “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn”.”

Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”

MATTHEW 13: 36-43 – He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
